Struggling to write an Access query - 5/8/2009 6:14:08
I have two files that contain data that I need to compare. Both files have similar data except that file 1 does not contain prices and file two does and file one only has an actual date and file 2 data has a date range where the price was relevant.

I have related the database on two code fields, code field abc and code field def.

I want to write a query that combines data from both files when the "effective date" field in file 1 is in the range of the "effective date" and "obsolete date" for the matching code record in file 2.

I am really struggling to get my head around the logic.

Steve

Hmmm, it's either too difficult or too boring! :)

Or perhaps not enough information?
How about giving us the sql statement you are trying to use and examples of the two code fields? Without them there is nothing to help with.
