DebSpecs -> Proxy website's effect on regular site (5/12/2009 13:51:53)
|
I'm considering signing on with a company that manages Google pay per click campaigns. They set up a "proxy" site so they can track all our clicks/conversions/etc. They are in the know, so we won't get in trouble for duplicate content. but...my hesitation is this: Natural page rank is boosted by incoming links. Even ads on Google pay per click are considered incoming links, and high traffic incoming links for that matter. Every time i have to pause my Google Ad Words, my natural listing slides. So, I will be giving up my Google adwords incoming link if this company sets up a proxy of our site. After all, it will link to their site which looks like ours, but is not ours. Do you think this will cause our natural listings to tank?
