I can't understand Google :) - 5/14/2009 1:22:22
Doing a Big G. search for: north computer services in cannon beach brings up my site on the map.

Doing a 'proper' search for: computer services in cannon beach or, computer repairs in cannon beach and, my site doesn't even make the map or the 'see more results' pages. Heck, Big G. gives Mike's Bike Shop a higher result than NorthCoast ComputerServices!!!

What's with that?

Is it possible that because I run cannonbeachcomputers as well that Google won't give me both 'cos they're the same mailing address or, they've decided that 'one site is all you get' ??

Thanks for any input. I appreciate your help.

This is an old post, but in case you're still scratching your head I'll take a shot at it. As far as I know, the Big G tends to frown on mirrored sites that duplicate content, but I doubt they'd count the same email address and a similar theme as a mirrored site as long as the content itself is different. Did you check Mike's Bike Shop to see how Mike has his keywords set up to get up so far in that search? Maybe you could try the same kind of tactic.

Hope that helps at least a little.

that's very funny. I think google is more difficult to understand even than girls. I doubt if some google insiders even know how does it work.
