Well definitely a lot more professional looking than the original and v. Web 2.0. What were they thinking of with the woman in the sand? What's that got to do with roofing? [8|] I'm not entirely sure about the striped background (colour, not the striped background itself). With the white/red/whatever colour it is stripes there's almost a pinkish cast to that background which just seems to me to clash just a teeny bit with the blue and red scheme of the page itself. Personally I'd go either with a grey or blue tone background stripe that's more neutral to make the page itself stand out more, or possibly a dark background (kind of off-black, not quite black/very dark grey). I know you've not got a lot of content on there yet, but it just feels very white and bright somehow to me (though I do have photophobia, so large expanses of white/light colours aren't my favourite look). As Mike said, possibly the header could be shrunk up a teeny bit and the logo made slightly smaller so you've got more actual content above the fold, but I'd stick with the logo/sky illustration rather than a photo in the header, for the simple reason that it's very difficult to make a roof look interesting, so I don't think a photo there would really add much to the site's look (we have the same problem at work on the repairs section of our site), and I'd personally stick to the more modern look with the illustration. With the logo you've got the roof in there anyway, so you've already got a visual cue as to what the site's about. Nothing wrong with hot babes in the right place, but I don't think on the roof is the right place - for a start, health and safety would have a fit! [;)]
