MS FP theme posting - 6/25/2009 11:00:02
I used MS Frontpage (2003) to design a web site. When I post the site to the server, I can get everything to post EXCEPT the "theme" which includes the background and navigation bar colors. The site is www.basshunters.t35.com

It looks like you created your site using some other software like word. Did you copy from Word or other MS product? It breaks in FF and IE8. Did you Publish using FP? Are the FP extensions enabled on your site? Lots of images are missing. Are they on the server? There is also a problem with the domain name. (www is missing)

You want a hint from a person that has used FP Themes? I have and had nothing but problems so I have removed them from all my sites that used them before. It is one of the most troublesome parts of FP. (In my opinion) You will find a lot of people on this forum have had problems with FP themes also.

I created it in Frontpage and used it to upload to the server. Can I delete the theme and keep the background color

You need to be a little more exact. By upload do you mean you Published or did you FTP? You also need to answer all of the questions I posted.

Some of it was created in MS Publisher, copied and paste into FP. I published it using a FTP. Not sure where the www is missing from.

BTW, I am very new at this and this is my first experience with FP

OK now we are getting some good answers.

Never, ever copy anything from Publisher, Word or any other MS piece of software directly into your FrontPage website.. Publisher is a program that produces stuff to be PRINTED on paper. It adds lots of junk that will make it impossible for other browsers like Firefox to render. Always copy from those programs into notepad then into your web.

When you ftp'd your site you probably corrupted the Extensions. That's may be the reason your theme is not showing. If you have extensions enabled on your website you will have to remove them and re-enable. Does your host provide a CPanel? If so, you can do it from there.

Get rid of all that stuff you copied from Publisher and re-do it correctly.

Then if you have the extensions up and running use the FP publish feature. NO FTP!

Go HERE for more help.
