Paypal html - 6/29/2009 22:05:06
I don;t know html, so I need help. I'm using FP3 on win XP. I designed a simple check out page in corel draw and imported it into FP as a gif. I have the Palpal logo on the page and I want to link that to the html code that I setup on paypal. Can someone tell me how to do this. I did not like the small paypal logo that comes with the paypal code,

Not sure what you mean. The paypal code is a form.

You could set up a background graphic, and place the paypal button on top of that?

Paypal form is what I think is when people go to paypal and make a payment. I don't know if this is the correct word. but that is what I ment.
If I make a backrground what do I do with my larger Paypal logo I want to use and how do I get the code to be centered on the page? The logo that comes with the code is too small for me.

Have you asked Paypal for a larger button? They have some larger ones on this page: https://www.paypal.com/newlogobuttons

Yes they give you a choice, but the largest is still small.

Make a div tag. Use css to give it a specific height and width equal to your large image.

Inside that div, place another div. Place the paypal code inside that.

Then use css in that div to place it exactly where you want in regards to the bg image.

I can write a tutorial on that if you want? Can't do it tonight, however.

You are talking greek to me, I guess you missed my orginal post. I don't know html, so I would really appreciate it if you would write the script for me and give me instructions that a baby can understand on how to post it in my FP3.
Thanks for any and all help.

No sure anyone here will do your web designing/coding for you. I would suggest you get a html and css book and learn how to do it. You can also get really good tutorials on the web. I don't mean to put you off but you have to learn how to do your own coding if you want to be a webmaster. Especially important if you are accepting money from people from products on your web site.

You said: "I designed a simple check out page in corel draw and imported it into FP as a gif."

That is not the way to design a web page.

A book like "How to get advice you don't need from web techs for dummies" I have spent thousands on designers from guru, freelancers, etc. they designed fantastic websites, got paid by me for their work. I got a websites that look great and I made NO money from the websites. Now I'm out of money, and just looking for someone to solve a fairly simple problem if they know html. I would pay if I had to, but my money is very low and I don't have the time or the desire to learn html. I found that out from my commodore days. I'm salesman, and I love selling not coding. There are people that cant sell a used twenty dollar bill for ten dollars. But they can code in their sleep. I think a person should stick to what they love and are good at it. But thanks for your advice, although a bit elementary in thought.

Thomas, thank you that suggestion has solved the problem, The page is up and working. It will not win any awards, but it did not cost me any money, thanks to you.
This website might not make any money, but I won't cry in my beer like I have over the years of paying to have beautiful flash and fades, etc designed websites and not making a penny from the the websites.
