Would it be possible to set up a code on a Frontpage page that could be updated by my post to Ping.Fm? I use Ping.fm to update my Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and a few other pages. Ping.fm has a selection for a custom url but I can't find anything on the web on how I could use this to update a page on my site. I thought I would throw it out to see what the pros think???

I would think they have some php code you can paste into your page. Just make sure your page has a .php file extension.

You could always just display the rss feed from your blog or your titter account or your faceboook account. Here's a way to do that.

Or you could use a widgetbox widget like I have in the left column here.

Thanks for the Great suggestions! I was able to get the free version of widgetbox working very fast. I assume that the one I see on your site is the pro version?

I just discovered a downside to widgetbox. If their site goes down, it kills your load time. I have temporarily commented out that code, but I'm going to bring it back when they come back online.

It's back up. I can live with this for now. I doubt if they will make this kind of thing a habit.

Am I wrong or did you move from the widgetbox to the facebook fan box? I went with the facebook fan box as well and I found I could do some pretty cool things with their code. I am not sure I still meet the terms of service but it looks good and all the facebook elements are still there. When I post at ping.fm it updates the facebook fan box on my site like I wanted as I set the facebook page up on ping.fm to receive status updates. very cool!
