Rollover Styling Problem - 7/21/2009 6:54:39
Hi everyone,

When visitor positions the pointer over the hyperlink, i want only the color of the link to be changed, not the size and not the font style...So, in the rollover style menu, i only change the color....

First problem, while i do not select bold text type, there is no change...it is like rollover styling is disabled...
Bold type increases text size, and it changes the look of my page, so i do not want to apply that...

Second problem, i am not able to change the rollover color...whatever i select, color of hyperlink is always black....

Any idea?

Thanks for now...

Finally, i have learned that the problem occurs by the theme of the page...

I would be glad , if someone knows how to add an effect to hyperlinks on whole page, while the page uses a theme...

Thanks in advance...

publish it as test.html or similar and post a link to it here. otherwise if you cant do that (!) then post the source code and any stylesheets

from the text file you sent nothing changes at all when the links are hovered

you do have quite a typical old style frontpage going on there with tables for layout (instead of using divs) and tons of font tags for almost every paragraph, link etc.
to be honest i would start again, learn some html and css and make a 4 column layout and use a cascading style sheet to control the appearance of the page including all the links styles.

if you want to stick with using the horrible stuff front page produces then i can't help you as i haven't touched frontpage in such a long time and the code is such a tangled mess of styles that it would be hard to work it all out. i suspect you could try using the page properties (or whatever it is called) to set the link styles.

have a look here at the html and css tutorials
http://www.w3schools.com/ ;)

i understand...
i think that process would cause me to loose time for now...
after i complete some basic things in a short time, then i can try to figure out how to use css codes...

thanks a lot for your interest...

When i select automatic color option for the link text, rollover effect works perfect...
But the automatic color of the page theme is green, and because of i do not want green color, i select the black color under the standart color options, for the link text....
And after that link color is always black...link's color never changes when pointer comes over it...

Themes don't allow you to change hyperlink rollover colors. But there is a very simple workaround. Remove the theme, apply your rollover effects then add the theme back in.

unfortunately, it did not work...
interesting thing is that theme does not prevent rollover effect at all...it just stops me to change hover color, if i change text type or text size, rollover effect wiill be seem...
i think i will give up using a theme...thats also fine i think...
