Sorting drw results by column contents - 7/22/2009 1:12:04
I have set up an Excel spreadsheet and have an asp page that queries it. In the results table, I can now (thanks to help found here  ) click on a Name and have it link to a second page with all the fields in the one record set for that one Name. However, I would like to be able to sort the results table on the first page that has the search form by clicking on the column headings for two of the columns. I currently do not have the column headings set up as hyperlinks as when I tried that, clicking on the column heading tried to open the data file. Some of our staff likes to be able to see the entire list and then sort by column to scan down the list. The two key columns are Name and Location.
Any suggestions?

Thank you for the reply. I actually tried that, but because I still need the search field, this isn't the solution I need. Is there any way I can keep the search field AND be able to sort by a column?

If my memory serves me correctly:
After specifying the ORDER and the CRITERIA in the "options" portion of the wizard make sure you go back to the step to select the "Custom Query" option................after modifying your custom query and as you go through the wizard when you get to the "LAST STEP" make sure you select the box labled "include search form"
