windows2000, pws and other probs - 12/18/2001 17:20:37
Hi

any help much appreciated.

I have a frontpage website that i have been developing - used windows 98 and i installed pws to manage the asp pages etc.
I now have another computer which uses windows2000 and want to continue with the web page etc on this new pc.

1. Please can you tell me how this will impact on my site?
2. Do i need to do/get something different with the pws?
3. Is this a major hassle? - should i just install windows 98 on this computer and be done with the new/potential probs?

Have just got used to the idiosyncricies associated with my site and frontpage - would hate to have a whole new set of probs to deal with.

what do you think?

thank you

tasha

Windows 2000 is great. Much better than Win98.

You will end up installing IIS5.0. This is going to give you more methods with ASP than what you had with Win98. I found Win2000 to be much easier to manage that Win98.

Your web pages should have no problem making the transition as long as everything has been installed. IMO, it would be worth the slight learning curve to develop on a Win2000 platform.
