Continuing Music on Website - 8/21/2009 23:58:24
Hi
I have a couple of websites that play continuing music but I have had to use frames to do this. Before you say "don't put music on a website because everyone hates it" I know all that, and I do have an on/off consol. The people that these two website attract actually LIKE the music. My problem is that I would dearly love to get rid of the Frames. Surely after all these years, some computer whiz has come up with a better solution. Is there any one out there with any ideas.
Thanks
MCD

Have you tried using Swish Jukebox? It works great and is easy to use. The cost is $39.99.

Yup - includes. There used to be a tutorial on here about how to use includes. With the redesign around here I've no idea where it is now, but someone else around here might know where they are now. Failing that. try googling for includes. There are various ways of using includes, depending on the software and type of server you're using, and Frontpage does a version of includes as well, though it's not something I've ever used.

I think the issue is continuing to play music as you navigate from page to page. Every page reload also reloads the music player except when you use a frameset to keep the player going while the content frame changes. In the "olden" days folks would even hide the player in a frame set to "0" so it wouldn't be visible at all. To my knowledge there isn't a solution other than frames or a popunder that contains the player..
