Tip for cleaning up Word table code when importing - 12/18/2001 22:46:56
This has been a pet peeve of mine since Office 2000 came out. It's impossible to easily get clean html out of a slightly complex Word document. I think I found a solution that works for me.
  • Do a straight select and copy of the MS Word text and tables
  • Open Wordpad and paste into Wordpad. The formatting looks odd in Wordpad, but do not adjust.
  • Select the text in Wordpad and copy. Do a straight paste ctrl-v in Frontpage.

You'll see most if not all of you're formatting intact and the tables are pasted simple and uncluttered.

Hope this isn't too obvious. But it took me two years to figure out anyways.

This didn't work for me...
But there is a tool:
http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/Msohtmf2.aspx
Some reformatting will be required but the table structure is there...
