Google does not even recognize me as a website

Well I'm not sure what your definition of not being recognised as a website is, but when I typed "Herban Hunter" into Google, up popped over a page of results, all for your website, or linking to your website.

When you type in www.herbanhunter.com google redirects me to a page to add url for future google crawl.
When you type in herbanhunter.com them search results brings up a page full of my site.
Is there a reason why google sees the www. differently

That's standard behaviour for Google AFAIK, though I've just typed in "www.herbanhunter,com" and it brought up a good page full of results for your site.
Search engines will pick up your site eventually if you've not submitted your domain to them as they crawl around the web, by following links from other sites to yours, but it makes it easier for them if you submit your URL for them to add to their list of URLs to index.
You won't get indexed overnight though, and it can take a number of months for a new domain to get indexed, but following good SEO practices (making sure your content is relevant to your keywords, and including your keywords and key phrases early in the page, making sure your code's clean so that the crawler doesn't have to wade through a load of junk to get to your content, making sure you have good quality inbound links, etc.) will help.
