w3wp.ext NOT in task manager - 10/8/2009 11:59:48
We have all of our web's seperated into seperate app pools; however, none of them show up in the task manager right now. I am getting spiked, and I know it is that process, but I do not know which to troubleshoot because none of them show up in the task manager. Once they do, then I can figure out which one is the culprit.

Any ideas?

I thought it won't show up until you put it into the pipeline. I'm sure you've already gotten the PID of each App Pool by using iisapp.vbs at the command prompt?

Ya, I know each PID of them; however, I can not monitor them on the task manager. When you say "put it into the pipeline", does that mean the websites are physically being used? Because we have 2 application pools that should be there pretty much all day.

I am getting spiked with 100% cpu usage sometimes, and I know it is that process; however, it is not showing up in the task manager to see what the PID is, so I do not know which app pool to troubleshoot.

I figured it out...the check box for "show processes by all users" in the task manager wasn't checked, woops! Thanks!
