404 error - 10/19/2009 19:07:40
I am trying to use Google webmaster tools and when Google attempted to check me it failed it said because it could not find-
because of 404 error. I used a tool that a forum member suggested to check it and it reported no problem.
I don't understand how you deal with o eliminate a 404. I thought it meant that you provide a 404 message if someone can't find a page on your website. I never placed one on the site. Is it automatic with FP 2003? How do I find it--I don't see anything on the index page. Is it possible that Google does not find it on Index but further along on one of the other pages .
My index page is on page 1 5th position on Google. Here is the code for oraclewiz.com

You asked the same question in the Frontpage forum and I answered that a 404 error means that your server or in your case, Google is looking for a page that doesn't exist. Frontpage does not create custom 404 error pages for you. You need to do that yourself. You probably need to look at the error that Google provides when it throws that 404 error.. It should show you the page it is looking for.
It would be easier for us to check this out further if you provided a link to your site.

Did you upload the google provided html file to the root on your server to verify?
Looks like google can't find the .html verification file .... ergo .... 404
