lotuspete Posts: 5 Joined: 10/25/2009 Status: offline	Need to Publish From Remote Site to my New Computer - 10/27/2009 23:48:48 Using FrontPage 2000 on Vista I am trying to navigate to my remote server in order to publish to my new computer and keep getting errors. What I am doing: File>Open Web>Folder Name: I type 'http://my domain.com' then click 'open'. I get: "The folder 'http://my domain.com' isn't accessible. The folder may be located on an unaccessible volume or protected with a password." Yet it does not prompt me for a password. I click 'OK' then I get: "The file name, location or format 'http://my domain.com' is not valid. Type the file name and location in the correct format, such as C:/location/file name." Can someone tell me what am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I just cannot remember how to do it. I can reach the remote server just fine from my work computer which is running XP and FP 2000 I am having the trouble from the home computer which is running Vista and FP 2000. Turning off or playing with the firewall settings may help... Otherwise it appears that some were able to work around it, some weren't and were forced to upgrade to 2003 to continue using Frontpage. Before going that route I would probably google around to see if FP-03 has Vista issues too? Sorry I'm not much help... it has been a while since I've used Frontpage... and almost as long since I've used Windows. _____________________________ Talk to your kittens about catnip, or someone else will. Noticed that his URL did not have the www. Try again with the www in the complete URL.
