In short, no. It takes time to get listed by search engines, let alone get good rankings, and without a lot of good content and decent links, you're not going to get a good ranking. It can take a good few weeks even to get indexed by the search engines, let alone get any PR score. Forums are notoriously difficult to promote, and damned hard work to run. The majority of new forums fail within a year because the people running them have no idea what's involved. There's an old web designer adage - "just because you build them doesn't mean that people will come." Establishing a forum is a long term process. People aren't going to flock to your forum overnight - you need content in your forum and people there talking to each other to attract people to your forum. An empty forum with no-one to talk to is going to attract no-one. The web is awash with forums, a tiny minority of which are very successful, some which are moderately successful, a bigger proportion that are struggling to stay afloat, and huge numbers that are either empty and unused, or are over-run with spammers. Unless the subject of your forum's unique or it's on a niche subject, you're going to be competing with literally thousands of similar forums, all vying for people to join them. Unless you've got something that all the others haven't got, you're going to have an uphill battle to make it hugely successful and high ranking. I ran a well established forum (it had been around for 5+ years) for about 4 years. It was in a niche subject area, and our competition numbered probably less than 10 similar forums. We had a memberlist of over 1000 members, and a hard core of active, posting members, and we were fairly busy most of the time. I don't think our PR ever got above 4, but we ranked very well in the search engines, most of the time getting search results filling the top 10 results, but our keywords were not common and our competition limited. Don't take this the wrong way, but from your questions over the last couple of days, it's obvious you've no idea what you're doing at the moment. If you want my advice, don't try and run before you can walk, and take your time and learn the basics before you leap in. You'll save yourself wasted time and money in the long-run. If you want to learn about running a forum, and running a successful forum, read some of the many articles online on the subject, and learn about SEO. One of the best places for learning about running online communities is a forum called The Admin Zone (http://www.theadminzone.com/forums/), which is dedicated to discussions about running online communities, building communities, marketing your community, and building your community. They also have areas dedicated to the major forum software, and all of the major forum software sites also have support forums where you can learn about the technical aspects of running a forum, as well as developing your community and running a community.
