Nav button image won't display properly - 11/15/2009 11:53:16
I have searched for this problem, but so far have not found the solution. One of the buttons on my nav bar won't display properly. I created the page the same way I created the other three pages and those buttons work okay. I have recalculated the links, deleted the page and recreated it, uploaded the entire site several times and nothing seems to work. I'm no good at reading the code to spot the problem. Been using FP 2003 for many years, but am still a novice. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

It appears that the "Links" part of your nav menu is missing some code. or missing the gif that is called out. You might check to see if it exists.

Since it was generated by Frontpage you may have to search for it.

You know, I would redo that menu using CSS or some standard code to make it more up to date. It uses a lot of Microsoft generated code that may not work in all browsers in the future.

Thanks. I figured that is the problem, but I can't find the part of the code that calls the gif or the gif name. I see the block of code that deals with the nav bar, but not the particular line. I'm just not that good at deciphering code. And I have no idea how to make a CSS nav bar.

Here's a step by step tutorial on how to do a CSS image rollover menu

There are many others, you can Google for more

FP generated navigation has always been spotty at best... never worked in anything but IE back in the day...

going with the CSS / rollover option might look daunting, maybe even intimidating... but will be well worth the small effort to learn.
