Emal Form Error! - 11/18/2009 7:19:32
Hi there,
Can anyone pease have a look at my form - I can't seem to get it working properly! I know this is perhaps an outdated way of doing things but its the only way I know how to do the form how I want to do it...! I've checked with my host and FP extensions are installed..
Any help would be gratefully received!!!!

Many thanks

Welcome Lee,

In your form properties box, instead of having "Send To Other" Checked (and the action entered as "mailto" :)) you need to check "Send To" up at the top and enter an email address where there's a field for it. Just the address, no "mailto".

Once you get the correct check box clicked you can go to "Options" and complicate things a bit more. :)

Hi Mike

Thanks for your reply!

I tried the way you have described first of all, but unfortunately it won't work that way... It works the way I have it now, but it comes up with various boxes and uses the visitors own email app to send the form. I'm sure it wasnt like that a few yrs ago...
Also, the forms arent formatted when they arrive, just a row of text, such as: Name:johnsmith&tel:12312312312&email:etcetc..

I remember that emails used to arrive a lot more straight forward plus there was no need to use visitors own email client..

Pulling my hair out!!! Arghhh!

Never saw a FP form sent that way???
Anyway, make a copy of the form and save it as register1.htm. Right click on on of the form fields and select "Form Properties" and check Send To and input an email address. Click on the options button and verify the email address and select formatted text under email format. Go to the saved fields tab and click on the "Save All" button to actually have some fields saved (take out any you don't want). OK out and save the changes. Open the form live and give it a go, if your host does have the FPSE's installed and has SMTP set up (the server has to be set up to send mail) the form data should arrive w/o issue. If that works OK you can go back to the Form Properties and create a confirmation reply form and set the form to also save to a text file as well.

Sorry for the delayed response, I'm not currently running FP on my home machines so I needed to do a walk through here at the office.:)

Hi Mike - no worries - really appreciate you looking at this for me!

I have tried your suggestion (this is the way I did it previously) but unfortunately it wont work this way - I get page cannat be found but the address changes to http://www.digitalpropertyshop.co.uk/_derived/nortbots.htm

The only way I can get some sort of functionality is the current way (see www.digitalpropertyshop.co.uk/register.htm)

Ive checked the hosting, and everything is as it should be!

Strange one!

Thanks again!

Lee
