CSS sprites - 11/25/2009 15:25:57
I've been reading a lot recently about CSS sprites, as I had only the vaguest idea what they were and what they do. Having read a few articles on the subject, it all seemed rather complicated and a lot of work to do. Then I found a wonderful site that sits as a bookmarklet on your browser, and then when activated dashes around your page figuring out which images can be sprited, combines them all together for you, and then figures out the new CSS for you! Wow! How cool is that? Worth checking out: http://spriteme.org/ And an article explaining what sprites are, how they work, and why they're cool: http://css-tricks.com/css-sprites/
