Why does index.php not get backed up? - 12/18/2009 13:03:27
Hi All,

When I am publishing a copy of my site back to my local drive, the only file that does not get backed up/published is index.php (the most important one!).

Does anyone know why this would happen?

Regards,
Rob

Hmm....that's strange. Was that php file previously published or did you upload it to the server using FTP?

OK when you FTP then Frontpage can't keep track of the files. So that could be why it didn't move the php file to your local web. You do know the difference?

Publishing using the extensions allows FP to keep track of the files and FTP is just a file transfer.

OK - so now that the damage is done...what can I do?
My web developer FTP'd them up after redesigning...

Well you could always publish the next time and see if it works. If it doesn't then you will have to uninstall the FP extensions and reinstall at your web server. But if it is only one file that is giving you problems, the index.php file then I would just FTP that file and be done with it.
