Using blog in your website to improve content and googl... - 1/26/2010 3:21:34
I am trying to improve the website ranking of www.barringtonhomes.eu and i have included a blog in the site using a feedburner. The blog page in the site is http://www.barringtonhomes.eu/Duquesa-Property-Blog.htm

My question is that is this page contributing to the content in the site as its simply feed generated and not direct text on the site (i say this as the text of the blog isnt in the code just the feed script).

Any advise would help on how to use blogs within a website to improve content and website rankings.

Thanks !

Put your blog feed on the front page of your web site to display title, some text, date, etc. from your blog.

I love Tweeter! Oh hang on... it doesn't exist.

I love "Choose the right blog software or custom build" - that's sort of like shrugging and saying "Meh, do whatever"

I guess then the correct thing to do in terms or improving website ranking is to use wordpress and create your own blog within your website. Is this correct ?

As long as the content is relevant to your other site content and placed prominently within the page... it should help.

I would not rely on someone elses blog to boost my page ranking though.

Good point. If you're using feed from another blog that you have no control over you've no control over the content, which is potentially storing up a whole load of trouble for you. If it's your blog, integrating the blog into the site's going to simplify maintenance in the long-run.

Link back from your blog to your main website with internal links in the content. Also use some sort of easy navigational tool so those who come into your blog can get to your website without too much trouble like a big graphic or text link at the top of the blog.
