bo44 -> Netsacpe Image Problem (4/4/2001 20:23:00)

Hi I am having a problem with getting thumb nails to display right in NN 4.08 and communicator 4.7 but they look fine with IE 5.5 and NN6. They are supposed display at the bottom of the page but on the browsers in question they appear at the top of the page. It is very frustrating can anyone help. Here is the address of the page http://bo46.com/BBQ/Pork.htm
The site is still being built and this has me stumped. Thanks very much for any help.

This could be part of the problem, not sure yet. Look at this code. Also noted that there are spaces in the filenames, thus the % sign. This should be corrected. Use the underscore _ instead of spaces.

<p align="center"><a href="../../../../../../My%20Documents/My%20Webs/BBQ/BBQ/Pork.htm">Pork</a></td>
<td width="25%" style="background-color: #FFFFCC; border-style: solid; border-width: 1; padding-top: 5; padding-bottom: 5" height="28">
<p align="center"><a href="../../../../../../My%20Documents/My%20Webs/BBQ/BBQ/Beef.htm">Beef</a></td>
<td width="25%" style="background-color: #FFFFCC; border-style: solid; border-width: 1; padding-top: 5; padding-bottom: 5" height="28">
<p align="center"><a href="../../../../../../My%20Documents/My%20Webs/BBQ/BBQ/Chicken.htm">Chicken</a></td>
<td width="25%" style="background-color: #FFFFCC; border-style: solid; border-width: 1; padding-top: 5; padding-bottom: 5" height="28">
<p align="center"><a href="../../../../../../My%20Documents/My%20Webs/BBQ/BBQ/Rubs%20ans%20Sauces.htm">Rubs
and Sides</a></td>

The code looks like it is trying to read someones hard drive, but may just be buried several directories deep?

Is there any reason why it is like this?

Is this a subweb of some kind?

I would suggest making a table with several cells and placing all content in the table.

There are many broken links, maybe you know this since you mentioned the site is still being developed.

It can be fixed.

I changed all my file names with spaces to ones with the underscore. I also moved the web out of the my documents folder to a folder of it's own but the same thing is still happening. I was wondering if NN4.08 and Communicator 4.7 might have a special tag that they use. Here is the cleaned up code for the area I am having trouble with thanks for your help and my URL for the page. http://bo46.com/BBQ/Pork.htm
<div align="center">
<center>
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="90%">
<tr>
<td width="20%"><font color="#000000">

</font></td>
<td width="20%"><font color="#000000"><a href="../images/pb2.jpg"><img border="2" src="pb2_small.jpg" alt="After 4 hours" style="border-style: groove; border-width: 2" width="100" height="68"></a>

Gene, thanks for your help I got the images to work correctly. I went ahead and did what you suggested and it did clean up the code but the images still weren't right. I was trying different things to get it right and what worked was when I removed the border from around the images I don't know why but it did. They appear correctly now in all the browsers. Once agian thanks much,
Bo
