Website Loading times - 12/27/2001 11:34:00
I realize ideal home page loading time at 56k is as short a time as possible, but are there any benchmarks based on surfer preferences? What's considered great? Acceptable? Forget anything over.....?

Thanks

Ak 56K less than 10 seconds is what you should be aiming for. It is reckoned about 30% of potential visitors will leave if it takes any longer.

If I have pages that are unavoidably larger I try to use a seperate table for the page header so that at least it loads fairly quick and gives the user something to look at - it might make them linger a bit longer to wait for the rest.

I appreciate it. This forum is so valuable for valid information that I suspect Thomas's business plan includes eventual charges for access.

Thanks again.
