Please tell me what you think of my site... - 1/3/2002 13:49:28
I've posted before with questions on improving speed and such, but I would like to have everyone's opinion on the site itself. This is my first attempt at website construction. Jeff Rowland Designs Specializing in decals, vehicle lettering, logo design, and signs of all types

I can't read a lot of the text. I was going to highlight it to read it, but since the text is in a graphic I can't do that. Can't print it to read it either. Clicking on any of the pictures just re-loads the page instead of showing a larger view of what I want to see. Took me a while to get past the splash page too cause I couldn't read whatever the button said. Not even on mouse over. (no alt tags) Why did you put all the text in graphics? It's not even an interesting font that may not be on someone's computer. A lot of people that you would like to see your site never will because of the sum of these things. Frames, text in graphics, no alt tags, etc.... The layout wouldn't be that bad if there were links at the bottom instead of just an arrow.

The dark red text on black is very hard to read, even harder because it's all capitals. I couldn't figure out how to order anything, so even though I'm interested in the subject matter it would be too much work to figure that out so you lost me. Some people (like Gil mentioned) choose not to see frames so include pages would have been a better choice. Because of the frames all your pages say "Homepage" - not a very descriptive title. Nice photos, but I'm on DSL so am not sure how quick your site will be on a dial-up connection. Don't forget to use ALT tags. I clicked on the top right photo in airbrushing and it opened in a new window with "New Page 1" as it's title. The splash page really seems superfluous. The artwork is beautiful and you have the material for a great site, maybe with a bit more content and more user-friendly touches. Good luck with it.

In addition to what the others have said, with which I agree, I found the site to be way too dark overall. It left me feeling kind of gloomy and I'm fairly certain that is not the impression you want to give your visitors.

I agree with what everyone else is saying. You should definitely make it easier for visitors to either order or find your contact info. You may want to put the contact info on the bottom, side or top of every page. Also, having the home page, email, and links as icons that are tucked away is too difficult to notice. Cool pics. You do nice work and with a little tweaking your site is going to be great. Dan _________________ www.keada.com
