web host recommendation? - 1/3/2002 16:20:48
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has recommendations on which web hosting service to use --
I've recently taken over a website with Earthlink/Mindspring. It is UNIX based, so it doesn't support the Access database which I would like to add. So, I'm considering switching companies...

1) What would happen if I switched over to an NT server (would it be very different?)
2) Can anyone recommend a web hosting service that is NT, FP-compatible, and has little niceties like urchin reports?

(I'm new to this stuff!)
Thank you for the help!

I just went from hosting myself to simplicity-web.com, not only was the price great so far the customer service has been excellent. I had the need for a SSL, SQL, and general help. Check them out.

Good luck.

Hi guys,

As luck would have it, I too am taking over a site being hosted at Earthlink . What a mess it is.

So, based upon Gil's recommendation, I gave Applied Innovations a call, and voila .... with a wee bit of luck, I should be able to publish this afternoon. They were very easy to talk with and work with.

And when I do publish, it'll be in the site critiques forum... ...
