quicktime movie doesn't work when published to web - 1/4/2002 2:08:02
on my football page
www.adessowebdesign.com/football/video.htm
the quicktime movies which are fine in FP2000's preview mode, don't show up when posted to the web. The four.mov files on the server are listed in the same folders as the videos.htm FP page. Can someone help me out?

I'm betting you are viewing it in IE6, or IE 5.5 with the most recent service pack. The problem is, that with the most recent service pack for IE 5.5 and all future releases if IE, they stop supporting the <embed> tag.

You will need to embed an ActiveX object. (You can insert one in FP under "Insert" and find Advanced. It varies depending on what version of FP you are using.)

Once you embed the ActiveX object, you will need to switch to HTML view and cut and paste the <embed> code so that it is INSIDE of the <object></object> tags. That way, Netscape users will see the embedded object, while browsers that view the <object> tag will ignore it.
