Website Analysis Reports...... - 1/6/2002 18:39:44
I just have a hit counter on my home page (www.bassboatcentral.com)and have had over 330,000 hits since I started the site in March 2000, but now am going to see if I can start getting advertisers on the site, both with banner ads and a MarketPlace section in the site where they can have full page ads to promotote their products. I'm assuming that prospective advertisers may require me to have some kind of website analysis reporting for the site. Are there any websites that offer this service that would be totally compatible with FrontPage 2000? I'm definitely a "newbie" and don't know anything about HTML and want to ensure that adding something like this would be totally trouble free and "hassle-free". Suggestions??? Thanks.........

I found Hit Box Pro easy to install and use on a Front Page 2000 site. Don't expect a speedy reply to any queries, however, they do get back to you the next day or two. I am going to try the statistic analysis that Web Position Gold offers as it incorporates into a lot of other stuff they offer. (and the special into price is good). regards, Scotty

I've never heard of a host that didn't offer a hit tracking package. Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our Specialty

I use www.webtrendslive.com a lot. It is free, easy to install and I prefer the buttons to the hitbox ones. The stats are nicely presented too. Gil is right - you will almost certainly have log files available from your host. However I have found that for most of my clients anyway you may as well show them greek as log files that have not been 'prettified' in some way. The same would probably be true of small advertisers. Well, thanks!! Turns out that my webhost company does provide Webtrends as part of the package, it just wasn't that obvious in the "details" of what is provided (or I didn't look close enough before ;). All I have to do is send them an e-mail to have them have the reports available to me on a daily basis. This is definitely THE place to come for answers!! Take care......

okay, I searched first. Now it is later. Much later. The analysis page host service provides shows > 150 hits since Saturday. My FP counter generally shows a higher number since it picks up refreshes, etc. (hey..the group likes to see those numbers roll). I don't tell them the REAL story! but now I am wondering. I published a redirect page over the weekend from old host to new host. While I never bank on the FP counter, I do use it as a clue to go check out the server stats. Would the redirected pages pick up on the counter? They don't on the old host since it did not have FP. I just figured this out.
