Site Using "Stretch Red" Template - 1/10/2002 0:51:35
http://www.peshtigofire.info/

I think the template is ideal for this site (thanks, Thomas!)

Will probably upgrade some of the "farmed out" elements in the future (guest book, mailing list, etc.)

I also think I need to work on targeting the writing more for the Web. It is meant to be an "encyclopedic" site, but I could probably break it up/condense things more.

Comments, critiques welcome.

Actually, I found it quite nicely laid out,
guest book included. Clean and concise.

I love seeing the templates in real life!

We should have them add gold stars to the smilies..
I would give you one!

I just figured this out.

Hi, Smiley.

Nice site. I agree with prelude that seeing the templates in 'real life' is cool.

Comment: Under the navigation bar when you have a graphic that says to click it for a larger image, it takes people who do click it to the gallery and the gallery seems to have it's own navigation (previous, home, back, and next). However, the back button takes one to the gallery homepage and not necessarily back to the page they were on previously.

This is not terribly confusing but you never knkow who's going to be browsing your site!

I'm using ns4.7 - might just be my browser but your site map renders really strange .

Thanks, everyone, for the comments.

I'm checking into those navigation issues.

Stuckinthemud, can you explain in more detail how the site map looks "strange"? I'll have to look into that, too.

My site statistics say the overwhelming majority of visitors are using AOL. <Heavy sigh> I might have to simplify some things. </End elitist attitude>

I'm also using NN4.7 and sitemap.htm has some probs. The list of page links appears 3 times:
1. middle of page,
2. rhs of page - you need to scroll horizontally,
3. and one way down the bottom.
And firebanner.gif doesn't display.
I'll send you a screen shot.
Other pages are fine, although I've spent a few weeks sweeping burnt leaves from the backyard so all that red is disconcerting.

I like it! I am planning on using this template for a client, as well. I am from Wisconsin, so I am familiar with your site's topic. Good job.

I really liked it. I also loved to see one of the templates from Outfront that has used.

I spent time reading ..... It was interesting.

Nice and clean, I like it.

On "The Victims" page, the picture of the marker underneath the nav bar looks a bit funny stuck off to the left hand side there. I'd center it under the other text.

I like the guest book using the same colour scheme.

Good job.

I viewed your site using NS 4.76, and it looked real nice, interesting read.
Only suggestion I have is to replace the HTML em-dashes w real dashes.
They showed up as html code in my browser.

I'm not sure what the purpose is of using the code as most standard
fonts are packaged w that character. Maybe someone'll enlighten
me here!

If you're interested in a cheap ISP, try www.catalog.com - my sites
are posted there free so long as I register my domain names thru them,
but as you've got more traffic, they have options that'd add throughput,
and keep your annual costs under $100.
