Drop-down menu - 1/17/2002 9:53:33
I recommend using Selteco Menu Maker v3.0 for easy-to-install menus. It is fully compatible with all of the major browsers, although it works best with Internet Explorer. Go to http://www.selteco.com for more details.

For value, ease of use, and great support you can't beat Vince from Spain's menus.
IMHO those menus flying down the page as I scroll are the most annoying thing I've ever seen. Terribly distracting when I'm trying to read what's on the page. And they float around so you have to wait till they stop to click on something. It's just too much like work!
ANd no, I'm not a reseller or affiliate, just a happy user of a good product.

Sydney - I'm using Selteco's Menu maker and I have a problem, but can't find any detailed help files or on-line help to guide me. Any suggestions?

And EWD - what are/is "Vince from Spain's menus"?

HELP- I used Selteco- and it is terrific to use and shows well, fast and simple. Problem is - I tried to make compatible with Netscape and couldn't. I'm just too naive about Netscape to really care, but a wee minority of viewers are unhappy. What to do? I can't learn coding. Soon, we will have content on the site by departments and the town really likes the drop down menu as a header/shared top border.

Any ideas that a non-coder can learn?

Thanks

Paula

Have you checked out the drop down menu available here? It has pretty good browser compatibility. Another thing you might want to do is add a site map button for anyone having problems with the drop downs.

Dear Royal Presence,

Selteco's product creates very simple and fast drop-down menus which are visible to the latest Internet Explorer browsers. It can be configured so that the menus drop down on Netscape and Opera browsers, but doing so requires absolute positioning. I am happy to use relative positioning and for only the top bar to be visible on non-IE browsers. I shall include a navigation bar on the left-hand side of my page layout and text hyperlinks to direct users to child pages.

Dear Precious,

I would e-mail Selteco's support desk if you have a problem with one of its products. One of Selteco's employees answered my request for the properties of the drop-down menu on its site.

Thanks everyone. I'll have to find out how many are Netscape viewers, etc.., and figure out where to go from here.

Thanks so much for your support!

I have some "vince questions" if anyone can help..

1) Can you change the hover colors?

The sample is a bit too subtle for me. I like the 'lit up' look for hover buttons, which is perhaps too much for some, but makes it clearer, imo. Anyway, can I change the hover look (just like with a navbar) or not?

Question 2 - I need to make some menus with way too many choices (sigh), is there a limit on the number of items in a popout? Does it scroll or just go off screen or... or am I supposed to get my act together and reduce the number of choices?

Matt

Hi, Matt -

Maybe you already posted this in the Product Support forum, but if not, that's where your question on this should be asked.

Linda
