Why Do Hover Buttons Look Like Crap In Netscape? - 1/19/2002 15:44:24
In IE they look nice, in Netscape they have the text down in the lower right corner and are rather dull. Why? Any fix?

Thank you in advance for your help.

It is worse than you think

Not only do they often not display correctly in Netscape they can sometimes cause Netscape to crash completely. No fix, the basic truth is that Hover Buttons are not cross browser compatible and are to be avoided.

The alternative is to use a JavaScript to create your mouse overs - there is a generator here that will make the code for you: http://www.builder.com/Programming/Kahn/012898/

Hover Buttons are like Banner Ad Manager in FP. They rarely work...

Java butttons have a set of problems also - take a look at Javascript like Katherine suggested.

I work for a large company were java script is disabled it is worthwhile having an alternative to browse your site.

Andee makes a very good point - what ever navigation you go for be sure to provide a text alternative.
