Writing HTML tags into an Access database field - 1/20/2002 10:15:37
Does anyone know why tags like <b>, <font>, <p> etc are not intepreted as HTML when written back out of an Access 97 database? I am using the FP2000 webbot/database feature to write back data from my database. When I use methods other than the FP database webbot I don't have this same problem.

Thanks
Spooky

Its all related to the functions FP uses to convert strings - sometimes its not required to return HTML as it will upset the pages code.

If you right click on the column value <<value>> and choose column properties, you can use "Contains HTML" to change the function FP uses to return your value.

I realize this is an old thread - but I was wondering if there is also a way to tell the results page to recognize line breaks that are not done as HTML. This would be for users who either don't want to know HTML or forget to use it.

Tx,

Geo

Sure - check out "formatting memo fields" on http://www.outfront.net/spooky/adv_drw_val.htm

I still can't seem to get it to work. After deleted the "grey code" where the value is listed and replacing it with the sample code - altered for the name of my field value, of course - I get a internal server error on the page.

I'll play around with it a bit more and see if I can't get it to work.

You may have placed it incorrectly?

Turns out I was deleting too much info when taking out the "fat" from the results region. Now it seems to be working great.

Thank you.
