Inaccurate Broken Hyperlink Reports - 4/5/2001 20:09:00
I maintain an Intranet site at work and FP 2000 is giving me inaccurate broken hyperlink reports for this web. There are 3 external sites that are always reported as being broken, yet if I click on the hyperlink on my page, everything works just fine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this and what I can do to over come it.

Thanks in advance.

Scott

Rather than just typing or copying in the hyperlink try browsing to it and adding it that way.

So highlight your link, right click, Hyperlink Properties and use the browse button to the right of the box where you enter the URL to browse to the relevent site. Once you are there the address is entered automatically in the URL box.

If you already did this or it doesn't work then I don't know.

Chances are that there is nothing wrong with your hyperlinks. FP cannot verify hyperlinks which go outside of your site, so it will show them as broken.

If you are connect to the Internet, do a verify hyperlinks and then look at your report - it MIGHT now show them as okay, but, then again - it might not!

As long as you know they work - don't worry.

Thank you for the suggestions, I'm still having the same problem but I guess I'll just have to deal with it
