Upload File Error - 1/21/2002 17:22:37
Hi guys, I am running FP 2002 extension on a 2000 machine. I have made a page to upload a file to a certain directory through the FP Upload Form in 2002. When I try to upload a file in a browser, like a user would, I get a user name, password, and domain box. After I put in my admin usr and pass, it works. But I do not want the average user to do this. They should be able just to upload the file without a usr and pass. Any ideas? What permissions would I check? Thanks in advance! Erin

It certainly sounds like users only have read permissions to that folder when they will also need write (for the IUSR account) §þððk¥ Database / DRW Q & A VP-ASP Shopping cart Spooky Login

Hey Spooky - I have given write permissions to IUSER in the actual Windows Folder and I have maked Write on the Folder in IIS. Here is the URL... I do not know if it will help for you to look at it... www.getworkdone.com/Upload.htm. I have two projects pending on this upload script. Any help you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!! Thanks Erin

Hey Spooky, I was also wondering if marking IUSER at the /_vti_bin/ folder as write would make a difference... I only marked the actual folder that the files was uploading to as write on the last go around.

Spooky and the rest of the gang -- I figured it out - something so simple. All you do is right click on the folder in FP and uncheck allow script to be run and check Allow anonymous upload to this directory. Erin

I had the same problem. I believe you need to right click on the folder you want them to upload to and select the "allow anonymous file upload" option.
