However, when I try to update the DB, when one or more of the fields have been replaced with a blank, then I receive the error I've pasted below (underlined). I don't see how I can use a default, since I'm already defaulting the field with a <%=request ("telephone")%> function. I can fool the update by telling the site visitor to put a space in the field, but I'm hoping there is something cleaner. Any ideas?
