Re-install advice for FP - 4/5/2001 17:50:00
I have been struggling with a recurring problem with FP. It has been suggested that I un-install and re-install the complete FP program to see if it will fix the problem. I would like to ask for any advise before I do that. Any files I should be sure and have back-up? Will my webs remain intact?Also heard there was a Service Pack for FP2000 but have not been able to find where to get it. Anyone know what's in the Service pack?

You can use the repair feature on your CD first. That almost always fixes the problem.
You don't have to do anything special to run the repair, all your files will be safe.

Thanks so much. The link looks like it has lots of good stuff besides the SP. Let's hope that my error goes away after a re-install. I get the following message every time I try and publish. "An error occurred accessing your FP web files. Authors, if authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for this servers site. Webmasters, please see the servers system log for more information". Every time I publish I have to re-install the FP extensions. I'll try your suggestion, Dixiedi, for the repair feature first. Let's hope it does the trick.
