Dumb question, I'm sure! - 2/5/2002 16:12:46
Hi, I suppose this is a very silly question to most of you, but since I am new, I have to find this out: Sometimes I will go to a site that has more than one URL along with their "main" URL. The only way I can describe it is show an example: www.thesite.com Then it will have: www.apply.thesite.com www.photsos.thesite.com How is this done??? What is the correct term for it? Are there more than one domain name being used? Or is it multiple servers? Is it easy to do?????? :) Thanks in advance for some help here! Caroline

Your examples are only one domain thesite.com The apply & the photos are sub-domains, set up on the server. Easy? Depends on who's doing it and (I assume) the server OS, never tried it on a Win Box. Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our Specialty Find a Web Professional

Can I set it up in Frontpage? Is there a website that gives directions on how to do it? Thanks!

Frontpage has nothing to do with it (nor Dreamweaver or any other application), it's a server configuration issue. Ask your host about it. Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our Specialty Find a Web Professional
