spunky monkey -> what has happend to my menu (2/6/2002 16:39:57)

i have been experimenting with the advice given on this board, relating to using tables ect.

unfortunately i seem to have run into another problem. I also opted to use frontpage 2002 page templates and tried using the menu template.

the main window displays fine but the menu is blank completely, i seem to either get the menu showing or the main page but never both.
can anu point out where i may be going wrong in this.

the main window is called index.html and the menu is menu.html have i just git it completely wrong.

one further question have i used the tables to reasonable effect?

I think i have fixed the problem, could someone please take a look and tell me if im grasping the concept of using the tables to keep everything in place properly?

thanks in advance!

Yep - the table seems fine. At a glance though... I didn't look at the coding since it's in frames -- be sure not to drag edges of a table.

You can also use tables to do the complete layout of a page (ie. instead of frames). There are many, many ways to do layouts. It's mostly personal preference and experience with different methods.

Actually, I would respectfully disagree with Linda in that you are on the right track, but you need to divide the cellsstill again creating 4 columns and 5 rows. The descriptions would go in a cell next to the image it's describing. Your text is simply sitting at the botom of the image both in teh same cell. Separate them. Go here to see how this is done: http://yosemitefun.com/tarheel/images/pictures_of_yosemite.htm
