Viewing at different resolutions - 2/11/2002 12:34:34
When viewing sites (like yours for example) If I change resolutions from 800x600 to 1024x768. Your site stays symmetrical. On mine everything goes haywire. Someone has said a "push" progam can take care of this. Can you help?

Hi Tom, I took a peak at this site and they are using a table set to 100% width. that way when being viewed in different rez. it will size accordingly. Also keep in mind that people do not always have their browser on fiull screen. Right now I have my browser at about 25% of my desktop. The only thing that would break that from happening is if the person uses graphics that are wider than the browser's view. Unfortunalty there is no "quick" fix other than going back and making your table set to that %. Pixels can be set also, I forget the exact pixel width though for each rez.. Might you have a URL and we can take a peek to see what is going on? Brian Work hard, play fair, stay sane

As Brian said, making your tables set to 100% will do allow the screen to adjust. When you do that, though, make sure that your cell widths in each row add up to 100%. Optionally, you can have a column that is undefined so that it will expand and contract as needed. And don't forget the image size issue that Brian mentioned. ---------- Who put the self-destruct button THERE?!
