Web bots?? - 2/12/2002 18:17:43
Spooky suggested I try something to avoid Netscape cutting my scripts out in a dynamically generated page. He mentioned using web bots to protect the code.

I'm totally unfamiliar with this technique. what do I need to do?

Im working from memory here - check the insert menu > component > script

That places any code within a webbot instruction, which stops FP from modifying code.

Eeeek. This is gonna be a nightmare to work into a script.

The problem really isn't with FrontPage, it's definitely a Netscape problem, but maybe if I disguise the code enough, NN won't mess with it either. I'll give you a progress report in the other thread once I give it a try.

If I ever figure this one out, I'll have a nice little area of expertise to share with the other Outfronters =P

I'm going to try your suggestion, although I'm thinking it won't fool NN. I've tried splitting up the statement, and that didn't work.
