That URL returns a 404 error? Noticed it's Geocities - that may be the problem... Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our Specialty Find a Web Professional

Thanks Gil for replying, do you think the forms will work when i set them up with a proper host and a proper domain name? I have found out that it might be the Frontpage Server Extensions, do you know how to configure them in FP2000. Please can you reply thanks a lot. Dave Jones

The host for the web site is going to be freeserve. When i have created the website in frontpage and then i upload the files onto the website will everything be fine. I am new at this web design lark. I created my own mini site with geocities but i am now creating a proper one for my dads company. If u have any other tips which will be of benefit i would be grateful. Thanks a lot for your help please can you reply to my message. Many thanks again. Dave Jones

I know for a fact that e-mail forms do NOT work on Geocities. I have used them many times in the past with some of my students to practice their sites. Free is nice but you don't get all the services. "To start, press any key. Where's the ANY key?" Homer Simpson

If the site is for a business then you should think about actually paying for a host. It doesn't cost that much with some Hosts as low as $100 year. If you need to e-mail the results of a form and you want to do it with Frontpage, make sure that they can do that!. Talk to human, don't trust their ad. Some hosts don't and you will have to use Formmail from http://www.worldwidemart.com/scripts/formmail.shtml. All this to change a number into a name...

Maybe, to start, sites tend to grow and the e-mail, logs and databases also take up space. Check out the prices the host charges for over the limit drive space.... All this to change a number into a name...

Dave, make sure that you take the time to research a really good host that will be able to help woith your difficulties. I asked my former web designer what host to go with and she recommended ValueWeb. I have no real complaints with them, they're always willing to help - with some issues. However, now that we are growing there are things that they can not do, like host an Access database. Not a big thing, but it was important to me. Hope this helps... ------------------------- Trying to solve my problems...with your brains!
