Background header graphics - 2/15/2002 15:05:43
Is there any online reference where I can obtain very basic information about using background pages for graphic design? I've inserted background pages but, quite frankly, only recently discovered how often the technique is used in conjunction with slicing for complex designs. As an aside, I'd like to know if use of these pages slows down the time it takes for the main page to load. As always, thanks.

Sorry, I don't have a reference for you. But it only slows the page by the size of the image; thus, a 5k file slows it not at all, and a 150k file slows it quite a bit! Compress, compress, compress... --Bri ----- #!usr/bin/girl

So with reference to file size and the time it takes for a page to load, it makes no difference whether the graphic is placed in a background or foreground page, correct?! What are the advantages then of placing graphic(s) in the background, rather than on a main page? Edited by - Gail on 02/16/2002 15:44:38

Gail, The advantage is that you can then place text over the image. ginnie Global Presence Web Design
