we80.cnf, wecerr.txt - 2/17/2002 23:59:25
When I tried to administer a site hosted on a Linux box, created in FP 98 and maintained with FP 2K, I get an error message before I can even log on, "Server error. Cannot open we80.cnf: no such file or folder. In my wecerr.txt, I have the following: 02/17/2002 23:51:16 Server error: Cannot open "we80.cnf": no such file or folder. (oops! same error!) Is this, as it seems, something I have to contact the host for? Don't try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

What version of FP extensions are on the server. If it is 98 then you wil have to upgrade to 2000. Tell the ISP that they do have to completely remove the 98 extensions first. On your side, I would make sure to have a working site saved on your hard drive. You will have to re-publish anyway... All this to change a number into a name...
