Splash vs. Content - 2/18/2002 10:22:02
I just launched my site. I develop marketing/communications pieces as well as websites. I'd appreciate feedback on the site - content-driven versus flash.

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff,

On the pages where you have hyperlinks at the top ex- http://www.nexuscom.ca/confer.htm - you may want to make hyperlinks apparent. Unless you scroll over them - you might not know they were links.
Site is easy to follow.

I am not big on Flash myself. Search engines should pick up well.

Looks nice and clean... I think on some of the pages (services for example) I would make thise links bold. They seem to just get lost with the rest of the page. Until I rollovered them I didnt realize they were links at all..

Hey prguy,

I think the site looks really good. As far as content-driven vs. flash I think it really depends on who your trying to reach. If I was marketing something to web or graphic design professionals I would use flash just cause... well its just so cool looking. If I was trying to get to someone otherwise i would stick with the content driven site just cause those people are probably more likely to not have the Flash plugin installed on their machine. Both have thier advantages, you just gotta figure out who it is your trying to reach and what they would want to see. Good luck!

I'll just add one comment. Your "Contact Us" form doesn't validate fields; I was able to submit an "empty" form. You should also create custom confirmation and error pages. The default FP confirmation page is just plain ugly!
