800x600 Specified Width - 4/7/2001 20:30:00
Ok, here's the deal. I want to specify my site, which I of course make with FP 2000, so that people with screen resolution 800x600 can view it properly. Is there some way I can specify a frames page to this?I'm badly in need of help, and this place seems like my only chance, any help is hugely appreciated!!

You can control the width of your HTML pages (frames or real pages), but you have no control over a visitors settings. What exactly are you trying to do? ------------------ Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our speciality "Is there another word for synonym?"

I am trying to make my site "small-enough" for people with screen resolution 800x600. If you look at my site with 800x600 resoultion it is way to big, and it get those annoying scrollbars. Feel free to check it out: http://home.no.net/spursu I heard that you could make a table with 750 px widt and place all of the content inside it, but that won't work with frames pages. Any suggestions? ------------------

Well, in my humble opinion nothing works in a frameset Besides a resolution of 800 doesn't have a lot to do with the size of the browser window - my resolution is 11280 X 960 but my browser is 762PX wide.... I guess you could try to set the total of the frames to a 750px width? PS You need to fix this also: This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them ------------------ Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our speciality "Is there another word for synonym?"

Ok, but how do I set the total of the frames to a 750 px width? And I've also seen that "This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them", what's with this? And why do I have to change it? And one more thing, when I view the "Frames Page HTML" I see this "charset=windows-1252", if I change the value in this what will happen? I'm sorry for asking so many stupid questions, but I'm a real newbie!

Right click inside each frame and set the width to a pixel value. The <noframes> content is required of framesets for those of us that do not load them (when using Opera), or for those of us who can't see frames (at work I'm using Lynx a lot). ------------------ Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our speciality "Is there another word for synonym?"
