looooong tables - additional note - 2/20/2002 9:56:40
as an additional note to that helpful item in today's newsletter ... I've found when I need a really long table what I do is make the long table first and play with the formatting etc. Then when it's done break it up into several shorter tables. Make some space at the bottom of the page, and cut and paste chunks of your table into i Example - http://www.chrislaker.co.uk/links.htm - FP says this will take 28s to load on 56k modem (5s on 28k) ... this split into separate tables every three letters (ABC - DEF etc) ... at least that way your audience gets to see something as the bottom of the page is loading (out of sight!) I find this gets over the pain that the browser needs to get the whole table ready to load before showing it to us Maybe this will be helpful to someone here? Photo Galleries | Web Design | HUB
