New Photoshop coming - 2/25/2002 4:12:16
I may very well be the last guy on the block to learn this, but I heard this weekend that a major upgrade is planned for release in April; upgrades are prices at $150.00. Can't wait. I've read some reviews of it. I was basically underwelmed by what I read about it. Many of the features they were hyping are in 6 now. Sometimes upgrades are nothing more than bug fixes. However, since I use the product daily, I will take a long look at it when more details become available. Gary Ready Page Graphic Design www.ready-page.com

I heard that several processes will be streamlined and simplified; God knows what that means... otherwise, I have no idea. It's just time to milk users for their 18-month toll charge... Don't misunderstand, I'll get my copy too... Yes, it does tend to get better and better with each new release. Phil "If God is not a Tar Heel, then why are hyperlinks default-colored Carolina blue?" http://www.1awebhosting.com 1A Web Hosting for Frontpage.

I guess I should explain that little ditty: When I was growing up in Chapel Hill, there was a bumper sticker that everyone had; it read "If God is not a Tar Heel, then why is the sky Carolina Blue?" and I have always remembered that slogan. So, I switched it around to fit a computer theme... it just happens to be true, though... :-) And don't forget where your Jayhawk coach comes from; he's an ex-Tar Heel. :-) And also don't think he won't end up there coaching one day, sooner than you think. He almost took the job this last time. Phil "If God is not a Tar Heel, then why are hyperlinks default-colored Carolina blue?" http://www.1awebhosting.com 1A Web Hosting for Frontpage.

Yeah, I'm with Phil. I'm sure we'll upgrade but still. I'm sorry but I've been through too many upgrades with different companies, including adobe and photoshop to believe the hype. Yes. the healing tool sounds cool but will it work as advertized or is it another of those tools that works great if you have the exact situation in the demo. I've had Corel Knockout for a year now. I watched the demos, tried it at a show and wow. BUT, try using it in the real world and it is much harder and limited. Yes, it works and I've used it with great success, given the right situation. Photoshop is the same way. I've seen some cool items only to be disapointed when I tried to actually use them. And, I'm sorry but some of the tools mentioned, as far as I'm concerned are fluff. For example "Web output enhancements to easily apply transparency or partial transparency to Web page elements, including seamless edges that blend into any Web background". What the heck does that mean. You wanna bet whether it will work seamlessly with any web background? Actually I thought some of the discussions about changes in Imageready sounded as good as anything in PS. Any way, I'll upgrade but I'm not going to get overly excited until I see it, try it and maybe even believe it... Gary Ready Page Graphic Design www.ready-page.com
