What do you think..... - 3/5/2002 20:12:32
I have no clue what I am doing but I took my first stab at creating a web site for a friend's business. Please give me some tips. Remember I am a Newbie, so be nice!

Hi, No Clue.

I took a quick look. Nice site. There are things you can do better but that's true for everyone! Nice start.

Four comments:
1.) I got no alt-text
2.) On http://www.spnspecialtybakers.com/partyplatter.html there should be a space between 26 and pieces for the 12" platter
3.) Don't overuse the scrolling text (I don't like it myself, but that's just MHO)
4.) The Contact Us button goes straight to email. I think Contact Us buttons should goj to a page with phone number, street address etc. That is also IMHO.

Great first try.

my personal preferences are:

-anything underlined looks like a link
-your font size seems large to me, you can size it down to 10 or 12 in most cases and it is still very readable
-the scrolling up and down gets annoying-
most of that can be fixed with smaller pics with a click to enlarge and smaller font size

I would agree with Tony about the "contact us" button. Just make another page with all contact info.

a recipe might be nice, or some kind of baking tip - mainly because I'm hungry. Remember, most people want something for nothing so give them a little and they will come back again and again.

good luck

I agree with the earlier comments plus -lose the srolling text and counter and you have a nice looking professional site.

I thought this was a great start. Site loads fast. I agree with what the others have been saying.

I think the scrolling text takes away from the site.

I did not see any delivery charges. The Quiche & baklava made me hungry. Since we looked shipping is free right?
