Guest -> probs with screensize (4/8/2001 20:13:00)

i have a big problem.
my homepage doesnt look like the same under different screensizes. another problem is that different fontsizes also make my page look very different from how i made it.

is there any way that my homepage looks like the same on different resolutions, fontsizes and browserwindows?

thx in advance, mk

'fraid not!

That is the nature of the web. In fact it is desirable, for reasons of preference or need many people choose to see large or small fonts and this is their choice.

There is a lot you can do to ensure that your site appears acceptable in each users configuration, but not that it looks exactly the same.

If you like post a url and we can take a look and see if there is anything you can do to improve the situation.

Hi MK,

Just a tip that I go by.
I normally (nothing is ever absolute ) use a 15 inch monitor.
I also set my screen resolution to 800X600 (I guess I will get a little flame on this as most people still hold to 640X480 resolution).
I set font size to large (to appease the 640X480 crowd).
I use % for table width.
Lastly when I have a template finalized I bump my screen resolutiuon down to 640X480 just to make sure.
Last I hit http://www.anybrowser.com and test different browsers.
I also have installed on my machine Netscape 4.08/Opera/old version of IE 3.X also to "just be sure".

Hope this helps,

Brian
