replacing web site - 3/7/2002 9:04:10
Hello all,

I have a current site on a Unix host server with fp extension...I have several subwebs, cgi-bin etc.

I have completely redesigned the site and I want to replace my main site with the new content...I have found that it's best to not have my cgi-bin, etc. in my web site files on my own disk, consequently I'm wondering--does the >publish all files replace only those files with the same name?, or does it delete other files and folders, like cgi-bin and subwebs?

Hope I was clear, if not let me know and thanks so much in advance,
Sharon

The cgi-bin and subwebs should be just fine... you can check publish all files but not check "include subwebs". It's always a good idea to keep back ups, just in case they're ever needed for whatever reason. Each subweb can be opened live and published back to your hard drive.

I'm no cgi expert (or even novice), so someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but AFAIK you can back up your cgi-bin by using ftp.

Linda
